The European Erasmus + project ‘Jobs for Work 4.0’ (website: http://work4-0.eu/) aims to raise awareness of career advisors, vocational trainers, professionals in the job market, students and the general public about the recent technological advancements in digitization, automation, internet of things, big data, artificial intelligence, and their impact on the job opportunities of 50 indicative professions from all sectors of the economy. Highly skilled jobs are now in danger of becoming obsolete as automation and digitization technologies continue to evolve and offer new opportunities to make work practices more flexible and agile.
The automation risk scores are based on the study by Osborne and Fray ‘The Future of Employment’.
The Skills, classification of professions and their descriptions are taken from the International Labor Organization’s (ILO), International Standard Classification of Occupations 2008 (ISCO-08).
The Background information section provides evidence for the expected technological developments, which is rooted in information available on reputable online media articles and analyses and that can be found in the Resources section.
Finally, the Case Studies section contains information about the maturity of the technological progress by showcasing technologies that have reached a level of development that have allowed them to replace human work or to cooperate with humans in the execution of tasks.
