Bug fix: The indexing of the update rate was incorrect above 20s due to the 30s option being removed from the drop down list but not the lookup table. Therefore battery life estimates will be pessimistic above 20s. Hence 60s was actually using 30s and 10mins was using 60s and so on.
This application estimates the battery life for Sonardyne's family of 6th Generation (6G) acoustic transponders for a pre-defined operational scenario.
The intuitive menu interface allows the user to specify the instrument type, for example a standard Compatt 6 fitted with an alkaline battery, together with instrument’s navigation and telemetry settings. Based on the information entered, the application will provide the user with an estimate, measured in days, of the instrument’s remaining battery life.
Users are reminded that this application provides only an estimate of the instrument’s remaining battery life, and that some assumptions have been made to keep the application simple to use.
Currently, the 6G Battery Life Estimator application is suitable for use with the following Sonardyne acoustic transponders: DPT6, Compatt 6, AMT, Fetch and PIES.
