ON APRIL 1, 1996, BOBBY NICHOLS LAUNCHED A NEW 50,000 SMOKING WATT RADIO STATION, WIIZ, 97.9 FM, LICENSED TO BLACKVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA. “THE WIZ,” AS IT IS KNOWN TO ITS MANY LISTENERS, IS A NICWILD COMMUNICATIONS STATION. THE STATION COVERS GREATER AUGUSTA, GEORGIA, ALONG WITH MORE THAN 12 OTHER GEORGIA COUNTIES AND MORE THAN 16 COUNTIES IN SOUTH CAROLINA. “THE WIZ” IS A MAINSTREAM URBAN STATION WITH A 500 FOOT TOWER. IT BROADCASTS 24 HOURS A DAY, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK.
