About A Dogs Vision Android App

Dogs do perceive the visual world a little bit different than we humans do. Most importantly they are colorblind for red and green, which means they cannot make a distinction between something that is red or green. This can lead to us humans not understanding why a dog, for example, reacts differently to a certain colored object than we expected. Or we see a beautiful scenery, but the same scenery could be confusing to a dog. You can use this app to your and your dogs benefit for training, whether it be socialization, agility or BAT (Behavior Adjustment Training).

Note: the app uses an approximation of what dogs might see since we (including science) do not know for sure what they see. The algorithm that is used to remap the colors from the human world to the dog world is based on an algorithm created by Brettel, Vienot and Mollon.

Note: Visual acuity of dogs is also different to us humans. The app does NOT take this into account.
