About ADFGX Cloud Solver Android App

This application was made to allow the community to help break the ADFGX cipher, even if you have no idea where to start! By allocating any amount of your Device's resources to this application, you will effectively bring us closer to an answer every minute.

To put it in simple terms, this application takes a "Already Transposed" version of the ADFGX cipher, and uses your systems resources to generate a random Alphabet Key to decrypt it with. After the decryption occurs, it then uses a custom Ngram scoring system based on English Frequencies to see if it is any good. If the result is considered good, (Any score over -280, which is the Average Score for a 34 count English sentence), it is then sent up to the server to be saved. The higher the score, the more likely it is English, thus the more likely it is the deciphered return.

At any given time, you can check the top returns from the whole community at the 'Top Scores' Tab Page. Chances are if you allocate a lot of your system resources and allow the application to run for long periods of time, you will find yourself up there as one of the top contributors!

If you plan on running the application for long periods of time, ensure that you plugin in your phone and turn off "locking" the phone to allow the application to run for extended periods of time, or overnight. Do not use this on the go, as it will drain the battery!

More Advanced Information:

This application receives the "Already Transposed Cipher" from the Cloud Server. We are starting the "First Wave" of this project with the Cipher Transposed from the word "ZOMBIE". For clarification, that Transposes to "IXSODNOIINXXSNRSNRNSRASOWXPOKXNSQL". The reason we have started with this Substitution Cipher, (which is what it becomes after we Transposed it), is because the extensive testing done on all possible Transpositions has made it the very top possible keyword. To further this conclusion, 3 of the top individuals who work on zombie ciphers came to this keyword in separate tests of their own.

For now the "Alphabet Key" or "Cipher Key" is simple the alphabet shuffled randomly. This is not optimized, as it means multiple keys could be tried multiple times. This was simply to get the application out, and the information started. The next update will allocate only the Permutations of the Alphabet needed.

After we have either tried all possible permutations, or we deem the data enough, we will then switch to a different Transposed Cipher if need be.

The Ngrams used to score the returns are from the site practicalcryptography.com and provide a excellent way to score the return. A big thanks to them for putting this together.
