About Affect Lab Android App
Affect Lab is a user research platform powered by Emotion AI technologies of Facial Coding and Eye Tracking.
Using the phone's front camera, the app allows user researchers to capture non-verbal cues like facial expressions and eye gaze movements of their tester panel.
The app is also enabled with Screen Recording and Surveys, allowing testers to participate in end-to-end studies in real-time.
The app can be used to test mobile apps, mobile browser sites, and desktop sites on phone.
Affect Lab is primarily used by user researchers to test videos, Ads, Content, Print Ads, Trailer, Episode, Digital Banner Ads on phone. The phone’s front camera is sufficient to capture both facial expressions and eye gaze data with more than 90% accuracy.
The data captured through facial coding, eye tracking, and survey features on the app are translated into actionable insights on Entropik Tech’s Affect Lab platform. The data syncs in real-time and the insights are readily available for analysis and download. These actionable insights can be used by user researchers to make recommendations on improving and humanizing Content and Media across web and mobile platforms. All data transfer happens in the background thus saving up to 4X on research turnaround time (TAT).

1. Eye Tracking Solo Tests
Tester must calibrate their eyes before they are exposed to the stimuli so that accurate insights like heat maps and gaze maps can be generated

Tester's calibration needs to be at least 90% accurate before they can proceed to take the test
2. Facial Coding Solo Tests
Facial calibration is done before the tester is exposed to the stimuli
As part of facial calibration, the app checks if the tester's face is properly visible and if the tester is sitting in a well-lit area
3. Facial Coding & Eye Tracking Combo Tests
Both Facial and Eye-tracking calibrations are done before exposing the tester to the stimuli under test
4. Eye tracking Insights on Affect Lab Platform
