Bugs fixing
Do you suffer from allergies? Airallergy tells you how much pollen and fungal spores are present in the air.
Airallergy allows to:
- follow the evolution of the pollen season for many allergenic trees (birch, alder, hazel, etc.) and herbaceous plants (grasses, mugwort).
- use optional geolocation in order display the data from the nearest station.
- to have an overview (digital calendar) of the critical periods that are usually observed in Belgium for pollens and fungal spores.
- to have information about allergenic plants and molds (description, flowering or sporulation period, role in allergies, etc.).
Airallergy is the application of the Belgian Aerobiological Surveillance Network (www.airallergy.be). This application is managed by Sciensano and aims to give people allergic to pollen and fungal spores information about the concentration trends in the air in Belgium. These data are helpful to physicists for their diagnoses, and to allergic patients to undertake preventive measures during the high-risk periods.
The network includes five stations spread over the country. They are located in Brussels, De Haan, Genk, Marche-en-Famenne and Tournai. The pollen concentrations are monitored from January to the end of September, whereas fungal spore concentrations are monitored until the end of November. The results shown on the application are updated daily for the Brussels station, and weekly for the other stations of the network.
