It took quite a while to be done, but I'm sure you'll like what we did with this update.
Not only did we spend a lot of time to improve the reliability of the app, we also added some new features and updated the user interface and design of the app.
A list of the new features can be found in the app itself, it's too long to be featured here. But among other things, there's now:
- start and end dates for alarms
- timezone support
- audio channel selection
This alarm clock offers many very useful features and is highly customizable.
For a full description of the app, go to http://bit.ly/alarmclockreminder
There is also an ad-free, unlimited version available: http://bit.ly/1SDHzhv
Features:
* Get woken up by ringtones, vibration, the screen light or flashlight - or all of them.
* Each alarm type can be configured individually, e.g. to use the phone screen fifteen minutes before the ringtone starts on low volume and gets louder in the next five minutes.
* Use NFC tags to lock alarm buttons, forcing you to get up to disable alarms (requires a device with NFC chip)
* Light alarm with either a single color or changing colors to gently wake you up and help you start your day the right way!
* Set up "active ranges" - dates during which the alarm won't trigger, e.g. your vacation. No need to manually deactivate the alarm on your last work day and reactivate it the night before - and no chance that you'll forget and show up late
* Set up alarms which only trigger on certain dates / date ranges, e.g. to wake up at 9 am during your vacation.
* Set up text messages which will be sent to your contacts if you're not awake by a certain time - e.g. to tell your car pool that they don't need to wait for you if you're not up at 7.00 am and your co-workers or boss that you won't make it on time today if by 8.00 am you're still using the snooze button.
* "Early riser": set up a target time and date, and your alarm will continually ring earlier every day until you wake up at your target time. Perfect if you're starting a new job in 30 days or are travelling to another timezone soon.
* Night clock: display a fullscreen clock on your phone after a configured time if you don't have a wall clock in your bedroom
Permissions:
* Send SMS messages: required if you're using the Auto-Text feature to deliver the text messages.
* Take pictures and videos: required if you want to use flashlight alarms. We don't actually use the camera.
* Read your contacts: required if you're using the Auto-Text feature to select a contact.
* Read the contents of your USB storage: required to get ringtones from your device (e.g. from MP3 files on your phone)
* Control Near Field Communication: required if you want to use NFC unlock
* Full network access and view network connections: required for displaying ads. We never make any requests to any server except for Google AdMob.
* Google Play billing service: required for the upgrade to the pro version of this app
* Run at startup: required to make sure that alarms still trigger after you rebooted your phone
* Control flashlight: required if you want to use flashlight alarms
* Control vibration: required if you want to use vibration alarms
* Prevent phone from sleeping: required to prevent device from falling asleep before or while an alarm is triggered
Free version limitations:
The free version of this app is limited to two alarms with one active range and one auto-text per alarm. Also, it displays ads. To unlock unlimited alarms with unlimited active ranges and auto-texts and to remove all ads you can upgrade to the pro version from within the app or by following this link: http://bit.ly/1SDHzhv
