- You open your browser and the pages loads very slow. Yes it loads. Oh no, it doesn't. Does it?..
- The email you expected doesn't arrive…
- No new messages the last 2 hours?…
Sounds familiair?
In my family it does; the question “do I have an internet connection ?” or in short “am I connected” is asked frequently.
The solution: a simple, free, add-free app for ourself and for you, to answer that question.
That's “Am I connected”.
We think you'll enjoy it as much as we do!
New in february 2019:
If you see a when you are WiFi connected, be sure that you have given the correct rights to the app.
When you are running version 9 of Android, this app needs to have 'location' permissions to show the name of the Wifi (the so called SSID).
This is a change made by Android from version 8 to version 9 (see https://developer.android.com/about/versions/pie/android-9.0-changes-all section 'Restricted access to Wi-Fi location and connection information').
So the 'ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION' is new in the release in february 2019, and you also have to set 'location services' to be enabled.
If you are an existing user who has this problem, you also have to go Settings > Apps > Am I Connected > Permissions and allow 'location'.
This version of Am I connected? Android App comes with one universal variant which will work on all the Android devices.
