İstanbul Tarih ve Kültür Derneği; tarih sahasında akademik ve kültürel çalışmalar yaparak, geçmiş ile gelecek arasında bağ oluşturmak suretiyle sosyal ve kültürel alanda toplumsal gelişimimize katkıda bulunmayı şiar edinerek, bilhassa yeni yetişen neslin tarih şuuruna sahip bireyler olarak bilinçlenmesi için gayret gösteren ve bu alanda faaliyetlerini icra eden bir kuruluştur.

Kuruluşumuzun temel vizyonu, geçmiş ve gelecek arasındaki tarihi bağı genç nesiller nezdinde perçinlemek ve geniş tarih vizyonu perspektifine sahip özgüveni yüksek bireylerin yetişmesine olanak tanımaktır.

Kuruluşumuzun temel faaliyetleri sosyo-kültürel ve tarih bilinci aşılanması amacı adı altında iki ana başlıkta sıralanabilir. Bu faaliyetlerin başlıcaları arasında akademik kimliğe sahip tanınmış tarih uzmanları ve üyelerinin de katılımıyla icra edilen Dersaadet Sohbetleri, akademik kitap tahlilleri, tarihi şahsiyetleri Anma Programları, tarihi konferans düzenlenmesi ve süreli yayın basımı, tarih-kültür-medeniyet gezileridir.
