الشيخ مهدي ياسين التهامي
ولد الشيخ مهدي ياسين التهامي في أسرة الشيخ التهامي عريقة الأصل والنسب والمشتهرة بالتدين والعلم .
فهو ابن المنشد الكبير الشيخ ياسين التهامي , وتربية عمه الجليل الفاضل الشيخ الجميل محمود التهامي .
بدأ حفظ القرآن الكريم صغيرا في كتاب المسجد كعادة أبناء القرى في الصعيد , وبعدها التحق بالأزهر الشريف ليتعلم العلوم الشرعية واللغة العربية على أصولها .تدرج في التعليم الأزهري حتى دخل كلية أصول الدين جامعة الأزهر فرع أسيوط .
بدأ الشيخ مهدي رحلته الإنشاديه صغيرا في المسجد أيضا حيث إقامة الأذان وشعائر الصلوات , وبحكم النشأة في بيت آل التهامي فقد كان يستمع دائما إلى الوالد ويتابع حفلاته ولياليه كواحد من المحبين فضلا عن كونه ابن الشيخ .
أنطلق بعدها في كل أنحاء البلاد منشدا ومغردا لأشعار المتصوفة الكبار رضوان الله عليهم أجميعن .
