ألف وتسعمائة وأربعة وثمانين، أو 1984، هي رواية ديستوبية من تأليف جورج أورويل نشرت سنة 1949.تقع أحداث الرواية في إيرستريب 1 (بريطانيا العظمى سابقا)، وهي مقاطعة من دولة عظمى تدعى أوشينيا، في عالم لا تهدأ فيه الحرب والرقابة الحكومية والتلاعب بالجماهير. ترزح تلك المقاطعة تحت نير نظام سياسي يدعو نفسه ،زورًا، بالاشتراكية الإنجليزية (حسب "نيوسبيك" اللغة الجديدة التي ابتكرتها الحكومة)، وتملك زمامه نخبة أعضاء الحزب الداخلي الذين يلاحقون الفردية والتفكير الحر بوصفها جرائم فكر.[4] يُجسَّد الأخ الكبير طغيان النظام، وهو قائد يحكم كزعيم لا يأتيه الحق من بين يديه ولا من خلفه، وإن كان ثمة احتمال أنه لا وجود له. يسعى الحزب للسلطة لا لشئ سوى لذاتها، لا لمصلحة الآخرين.[5] أما بطل الرواية، وينستون سميث، فهو عضو في الحزب الخارجي وموظف في وزارة الحقيقة المسؤولة عن الدعاية ومراجعة التاريخ؛ وعمله هو إعادة كتابة المقالات القديمة وتغيير الحقائق التاريخية بحيث تتفق مع ما يعلنه الحزب على الدوام.[6] يتلقى الموظفون في وزارة الحقيقة تعليمات تحدد التصحيحات المطلوبة، وتصفها بالتعديلات عوضًا عن التزييفات والأكاذيب. كما يعكف جزء كبير من الوزارة على تدمير المستندات الأصلية التي لا تتضمن تلك التعديلات. وبذلك يذهب الدليل على كذب الحكومة أدراج الرياح. يجتهد وينستون في عمله ويؤديه على أكمل وجه، مع أنه يبغض الحزب سرًا ويحلم بإضرام ثورة على الأخ الكبير.[7][8] تعد 1984، بوصفها عمل خيالي سياسي وخيال علمي ديستوبي (منذر بنهاية العالم)، رواية كلاسيكية من حيث الحبكة والأسلوب، وقد أضيفت مصطلحاتها إلى الاستخدام الشائع منذ نشرها، ومنها: الأخ الكبير، والتفكير المزدوج، وجريمة فكر، والغرفة 101، وشاشة العرض، و2 + 2 = 5، وبئر الذكريات، بل وانتشرت صفة "أورويليّ" لتعني الخداع الحكومي والمراقبة السرية وتلاعب الدولة الشمولية السلطوية بالتاريخ الموثق.[9] اختارت مجلة تايم الرواية في 2005 ضمن أفضل 100 رواية كتبت باللغة الإنجليزية بين سنتي 1923 و2005.[10] ووصلت إلى قائمتي دار نشر "Modern Library" لافضل 100 رواية، متربعة في المركز الثالث عشر على قائمة المحرر والمركز السادس في قائمة القراء.[11] وفي 2003 وصلت إلى المركز الثامن في استفتاء أجرته هيئة الإذاعة البريطانية.[12]The 1984 novel is a dissubstantial novel by George Orwell, published in 1949. The story takes place in the former Great Britain, a province of a superpower called Oceania, in a world where war, government control and manipulation of the masses are not subsided. The province is under the yoke of a political system that falsely calls itself English socialism (according to the new language invented by the government) and is dominated by elite party members who pursue individualism and free thought as thought crimes. [4] The big brother embodies the tyranny of the regime, a leader who rules as a leader who does not come right from his hands or behind him, although there is a possibility that he does not exist. The party seeks power only for its own sake, not for the benefit of others. [5] The protagonist, Winston Smith, is a member of the outside party and a staff member of the Ministry of Truth responsible for publicity and revision of history; his work is to rewrite old articles and change historical facts to match what the party has always declared. Staff at the Ministry of Truth receive instructions specifying the required corrections and describe them as amendments rather than counterfeits and lies. A large part of the ministry is also destroying original documents that do not include those amendments. And so the evidence goes to lie the government in the wind. Winston works hard and does his best, though he secretly hates the party and dreams of revolutionizing the big brother. [7] [8] 1984, as a fictional political work and a scientific fantasy of the end of the world, is a classic novel in terms of plot and style. Its terms have been added to the common use since its publication: Big Brother, Double Thinking, Think Crime, Room 101, + 2 = 5, and the well of memories, and even spread the character of "Orwelli" to mean government deception and secret surveillance and manipulation of authoritarian totalitarian state with documented history. [9] Time magazine chose the novel in 2005 as one of the top 100 novels written in English between 1923 and 2005. [10] I came to the list of the "Modern Library" for the top 100 novels, ranked 13th in the list of editor and sixth in the list of readers. [11] In 2003 it reached eighth place in a BBC poll. [12]
