The New Taipei City Public Bicycle Rental System is a public bicycle model planned by the New Taipei City Government Transportation Bureau. The piled system is managed by Giant in the BOT mode, and the pileless system is managed by Yundian Technology in the BOO mode. The predecessor was the "Taipei County Public Bicycle Rental System" which was piloted only in Banqiao District by the Taipei County Government at the end of October 2008. It was operated by manual rental; on September 2, 2013, the NewBike system began to pilot automated rental services, becoming the first in Taiwan. Three-seater automated public bicycle rental system; the Youbike system will be added in parallel on New Year's Day in 2014, and the NewBike system will be retired in April 2015; on August 24, 2020, the Transportation Bureau will introduce the dockless bicycle system Moovo into New Taipei City through bidding. The YouBike system coexists. After the YouBike contract expires in August 2021, the YouBike system will still be maintained. It is expected that the New Taipei City public bicycle rental system with specific needs will be announced in March of the same year.
