انطلقت الحملة لأول مرة في محرم 1435 من قبل مجموعة شباب من مختلف الدول العربية جمعهم حب الحسين عليه السلام والرغبة بالخدمة الحسينية بطريقة فعالة جديدة ومواكبة للعصر الحديث والمجتمع الشبابي , وإيمانا منهم بضرورة وأهمية إحياء أمر آل محمد عليهم السلام وهم أعلام الهدى وقدوة المتقين، ومأوى أفئدة المسلمين بل ومن في العالم أجمعين تقرر إطلاق الحملة الكبرى #ويبقى_الحسين لعامها الثالث على التوالي ضمن أربعة فعاليات رئيسية تغطي مختلف مواهب وإمكانيات الراغبين بالمشاركة في الحملة.
