هذ هو الجزء الثاني من كيف تروض تنينك.. تحكي القصة عن فتى اسمه هيكاب(حازوقة في الترجمة العربية)اراد ابوه ان يجعل منه زعيما لبيرك ولكنه لا يريد ذلك . يبدأ الفلم بهذا الفتى وهو يحاول ان يدرك من يكون وماذا يريد ؟هو يختلف كثيرا عن سكان بيرك.فهم كانوا يعادون التنانين ولكنه صادق التنانين .هو يختلف عن ابيه ولم يقابل امه من قبل . وفى اثناء حواره حول هذا مع استريد يشاهد شئ غريب فيذهب صوبه .وحينها يتعرف على رجال دراغو .وإنهم يصطادوا التنانين من اجله . يذهب حازوقة إلى ابيه ويخبره بما شاهده . يفضل ابوه استخدام القوة مع دراغو ولكن حزوقه يصر على الحوار . يذهب حازوقة إلى دراغو املا في اقناعه بنبذ العنف . وحينها يقوم شخص مجهول بإختطافه .يكتشف انها والدته وحينها يدرك انه يشبهها في حبه للتنانين. يجتمع حازوقة بأمه ثم يجتمع بهما ابوه ويذهبا إلى دراغو ومعهم تنانين امه . إلا ان دراغو يفوز في المواجهة وكذلك يسيطر على تنين حازوقة ويجعله يقتل رزين (والد حازوقة). يعود حازوقة إلى بيرك ويواجه دراغو .وفى هذه المواجهة ينتصر الولاء والحب على السيطرة وسلب الإرادة . بعد انتصار حازوقة يتوج كزعيم لبيرك خلفا لأبيه .ثم يتزوج استريد و يموت دراغوDefenders of Burke continues the adventures of hiccup and Tninh Abu age taken from the film How to Train Your Dragon.
