হাদিস(hadith) (আরবিতে الحديث) হলো মূলত ইসলাম ধর্মের শেষ বাণীবাহক হযরত মুহাম্মাদ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বাণী ও জীবনাচরণ। হাদিসের উপদেশ মুসলমানদের জীবনাচরণ ও ব্যবহারবিধির অন্যতম পথনির্দেশ। কুরআন ইসলামের মৌলিক গ্রন্থ এবং হাদিসকে অনেক সময় তার ব্যাখ্যা হিসেবেও অভিহিত করা হয়। হাদিস বিষয়ে পণ্ডিত ব্যক্তিকে মুহাদ্দিস বলা হয়। একে হাদিসের বাণীও বলা হয়।

However, there is no overall agreement: different groups and different individual scholars may classify a hadith differently.
