الباب الأول ـ في المصيبة و حقيقتها و ما أعد الله لمسترجعها
قال الله تعالى : { الذين إذا أصابتهم مصيبة قالوا إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون * أولئك عليهم صلوات من ربهم ورحمة وأولئك هم المهتدون } قال عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه : نعم العدلان و نعمت العلاوة { أولئك عليهم صلوات من ربهم و رحمة } الآية ذكره البخاري تعليقا
و قال تعالى : { ما أصاب من مصيبة إلا بإذن الله و من يؤمن بالله يهد قلبه } قال علقمة وجماعة من المفسرين : هي المصائب تصيب الرجل فيعلم أنها من عند الله فيرضى و يسلم و الآيات في هذا الباب كثيرة
قال أهل اللغة : يقال مصيبة و مصابة و مصوبة قالوا : وحقيقته الأمر المكروه يحل بالإنسان و قال القرطبي : المصيبة كل ما يؤذي المؤمن و يصيبه يقال : أصابه إصابة و مصابة و صابة و المصيبة واحدة المصائب و المصوبة بضم الصاد مثل المصيبة و أجمعت العرب على همز المصائب و أصله الواو وكأنهم شبهوا الأصل بالزائد و يجمع على مصاوب و هو الأصل وعلى مصائب
