মহাগ্রন্থ আল-কুরআন আল্লাহ তা’আলার পক্ষ থেকে বান্দার জন্য এক মহা নেয়ামত। ইহা সকলের জন্য শিক্ষা করা ফরয। আল্লাহ তা’আলার নিজস্ব বাণীই হল এই কুরআন। জ্ঞান-বিজ্ঞানের আধার ও বিশাল ভান্ডার জিবরাঈল (আঃ)-এর মাধ্যমে দীর্ঘ ২২ বছর ৯ মাস ২২ দিনে মক্কা ও মদীনাতে মহানবী হযরত মুহাম্মাদ (সাঃ)-এর প্রতি ইহা অবতীর্ণ হয়।

আরবী ভাষায় এই কুরআন তিলাওয়াত কিছুটা কঠিন হলেও সঠিক ও শুদ্ধ করে তিলাওয়াতের জন্য রয়েছে নিয়মাবলী। ইহার ভুল তিলাওয়াত অপরাধ ও পাপের কাজ। মহানবী (সাঃ) বলেছেনঃ “এমন অনেক তিলাওয়াতকারী আছে যে কুরআন তিলাওয়াত করে আর কুরআন তার উপর লানত করে।” (আল-হাদীস)
