یکی از مشهورترین کتبی که در سده ی اخیر تالیف شده کتابی است که شادروان نجفی قوچانی با نام سیاحت غرب یا سرنوشت ارواح بعد از مرگ نگاشته است. مرحوم قوچانی با اینکه یک روحانی بود اما همانند یک نویسنده ی حرفه ای، به شرح داستان خویش پس از مرگ خود می پردازد و خواننده را با ترس ها و حوادثی که پس از مرگ گریبانگیرش می شود آشنا می کند.
