O azulão (Cyanocompsa brissonii) é uma ave passeriforme da família Fringillidae. Também é conhecida pelos nomes de azulão-bicudo, azulão-do-nordeste, azulão-do-sul, azulão-verdadeiro, guarundi-azul, gurandi-azul, gurundi-azul e tiatã.

Caracterização:

O azulão mede aproximadamente 15 cm de comprimento. O macho possui plumagem totalmente azul-escura quando adulto, com a fronte, sobrancelhas e coberteiras superiores das asas azuis-brilhantes. A fêmea e os imaturos são marrons-pardos.
Está ave é territorialista, não possível vê-las em bando. Caso exista um casal em devida localização, só será possível encontrar outro casal há uma certa distância. Os filhotes de azulão ficam com seus pais até um certo tempo, depois partem para uma vida "independente", pois o instinto territorialista do azulão não o deixará ficar por perto após estar na fase adulta.
