Прославленная обитель Живоначальной Троицы основана преподобным Сергием Радонежским в 1337 году. В его стенах подвизался сонм подвижников Русской Православ­ной Церкви, в их числе прп. Никон Радонежский, прп. Максим Грек, духовные писатели — Епифаний Пре­мудрый и Пахомий Логофет.

В Лавре веками собира­лась уникальная библиотека рукописных и старопечатных книг. Постриженниками Лавры основаны и духовно обустроены со­тни русских монастырей.
В 1744 году монастырь получил почетное наиме­нование Лавры.
Подвиги насельников Троице-Сергиевой Лавры известны всему миру; подвижники монастыря поистине являются примером богоугодной жизни для каждого христианина. Во все времена благочестивые миряне и монашествующие искали духовных советов и наставлений иноков Троицкой обители, с неизменным тщанием и прилежностью слушали поучения, проповеди и рассказы святых подвижников. Ныне мы также имеем возможность поучиться навыкам духовной жизни у троицких наставников.
