Omat Pysäkit, one man's hobby project and originally done for own use only!
Omat Pysäkit currently works only in Helsinki capital area and Tampere.
Omat Pysäkit shows next public transportation departures on those stops that you use the most. You can also put it as an application widget to your device's home screen and lock screen (if supported). First define your stops and lines that you use (which unfortunately is still a bit hard, sorry), and then see your departures quickly with one glance from your phone. Instructions how take Omat Pysäkit into use can be found here (only in Finnish unfortunately):

Omat Pysäkit is not a journey planner but shows departures times on predetermined stops.
If Omat Pysäkit does not work, please check the support pages or contact via email.

Omat Pysäkit works in following areas in Finland:
- capital area (HSL, local trains)
- Tampere
It does not currently work in (but may be in the future):
- Oulu
- Turku
- Lappeenranta
- Vaasa
- Lahti
Note: It may be that sometimes Omat Pysäkit crashes, especially in Android 2.x when widget is being used. In this case, please let the application post the report to the developer. This way we can make Omat Pysäkit more stable.
Usage: I use Omat Pysäkit the following way. After I install the application, I start to use the area of my choosing. If you haven't configured your stops please do so (this is the hardest part). After the application starts showing timetables, I just kill the application (widgets will work since the service is running on the background). I then add widgets where ever I want. I recommend adding one to the lock screen, if possible. Then, just let it run. If you want to force the service to update timetables from the server, just tap the widget once.
Facts:
- Omat Pysäkit application: the application itself
- Omat Pysäkit service: the background service, which keeps the timetables updated.
- Omat Pysäkit widget: timetable view on desktop or on lock screen.
- Omat Pysäkit service is initially started, when Omat Pysäkit application successfully shows the stops and departures.
- Omat Pysäkit widgets uses Omat Pysäkit service to obtain timetables, Omat Pysäkit application does not need to be running. Don't logout in the application, just kill it if you don't want it to be running.
- Omat Pysäkit service is initially started, when Omat Pysäkit application successfully shows the stops and departures.
- Omat Pysäkit service stops automatically if there are no active Omat Pysäkit widgets showing timetables, and similarly service starts automatically when the first widget is added.
Beta testing: You can also be a beta tester for Omat Pysäkit application, which means that you get new version in use more often, but which also means that the application may crash from time to time. Instructions how to join can be found here:
