Коляска — повесть Николая Васильевича Гоголя (1809_1852). Написана в 1835 году.
Действие разворачивается в городке Б. В нём «страх скучно», «до невероятности кисло». Но с прибытием кавалерийского полка всё изменилось. Офицеры гуляют, из городского общества с ними гуляет только помещик Пифагор Пифагорович Чертокуцкий. Однажды генерал устроил званый обед. После обеда генерал решил показать гостям свою покупку: гнедую кобылу. Гости искренне восхищались красотой лошади, а Чертокуцкий поинтересовался: есть ли у генерала соответствующий экипаж для подобной лошади? Как оказалась, подходящего экипажа у генерала не было, тогда Чертокуцкий предложил ему свою коляску, удобную, вместительную и красивую. Рассчитывая выгодно организовать продажу коляски, Чертокуцкий пригласил генерала и офицеров на следующий день «отобедать и осмотреть коляску». Вернувшись домой, он ложится спать, забыв сказать жене о назначенном на завтра обеде в его доме. К обеду жена его будит и говорит, что едут офицеры. Пифагор Пифагорович сразу вспомнил об обеде, сказав что его нет дома, прячется в конюшне в коляску. Это известие вызвало негодование со стороны гостей. Однако потом решено было осмотреть коляску и без хозяина....
