خلاصه اي از داستان رمان:
ماليبو، شهري در ايالت کاليفرنيا، محل استادان راک اند رول، هنرپيشگان هاليوود، زيبارويان، ثروتمندان و … البته خون آشامان.
رافائل، خون آشامي نيرومند و محبوب، يکي از معدود مرداني است که زندگي و مرگ هزاران خون آشام در اختيار دارد و همه او را با لقب لرد مي شناسند. اما اين بار به خاطر حمله خشونت بار انسانها به حريمش و ربودن تنها زني که در دنيا به او علاقه دارد، دست به دامن يک کارآگاه خصوصي به نام سينديا مي شود تا او را بيابد. سينديا لايتون، پليس سابق، دختري باهوش و جذاب است که از جاسوسي زن و شوهرها و همينطور کنکاش در حساب بانکي ديگران احساس کسالت مي کند و به همين خاطر پيشنهاد رافائل را مي پذيرد و دست به کار مي شود اما به زودي درمي يابد که خطر اصلي، نه از جانب انسانها، که از جانب خود رافائل است. رافائل و سينديا که همزمان بايد با جنايتکاران روسي و خون آشامان خائن بجنگند، دريافتند که حلقه اي از خشونت و مرگ آنها را کاملاً احاطه کرده و بيرحمانه قصد نابوديشان را دارد

صفحه ي اول رمان:
