شهر رمضان
رمضان المعظم هو الشهر التاسع في السنة الهجرية. و هو شهر الأجر و الثواب، شهر العبادة و الغفران. فرمضان الكريم هو شهر الصوم حيث يمسك فيه المسلمون عن الطعام و الشراب و الجماع من طلوع الفجر إلى غروب الشمس.


كغيره من شهور السنة الهجرية، يدوم شهر رمضان ٢٩ أو ٣٠ يوما. و يتغير تاريخ بداية شهر رمضان من سنة لأخرى حيث يختلف عن السنة التي قبلها ب ١١ يوما.
و يصادف تاريخ بداية شهر رمضان نهاية شهر شعبان، و بالتالي يتم تحديده بمراقبة ظهور الهلال بدءًا من ٢٩ من شهر شعبان. إلا أن ظهور القمر يختلف من بلد لآخر حيث تصعب رؤيته في بعض الحالات حين يكثر السحاب. لذلك يتغير تاريخ بداية شهر رمضان من بلد لآخر.
