内閣総理大臣は、国会議員の中から国会の議決（首班指名）でこれを指名（憲法67条1項）。
指名の資格要件は国会議員であることと文民であること。
指名選挙は衆議院と参議院の両院で行われ、両院の指名が食い違った場合は両院協議会が開催されるが、両院協議会で成案が得られない場合は衆議院による指名が国会議決となります。
過去に両院協議会が開かれた例はあるが、成案が得られた例はない。
事実上、衆議院の多数勢力の意向の通りに指名がなされる仕組みである。

この内閣総理大臣を初代から在任中まで（2016年3月現在）を勉強するアプリです。
