Жизнь — это Игра, в которой каждый из нас исполняет свою роль. Эту игру в Индии называют Лилой, а играет в нее наше Высшее «Я», создающее весь мир имен и форм. Перед нами — действующая модель этой Игры, созданная в глубокой древности и дошедшая до нас через Хариша Джохари (перевод: Сергей Лакатош), знатока и хранителя индийской мистической традиции. Йоги, исследовавшие лабиринты человеческого сознания, установили существование 72 изначальных состояний бытия. Эти состояния соответствуют клеткам игральной доски Лилы — «периодической системы элементов сознания». В рамках этих состояний каждый игрок действует в соответствии со своей кармой, причем игра заканчивается лишь тогда, когда игрок полностью проникает в ее смысл, достигнув Космического Сознания. Игрок бросает кость, позволяя силам кармы определить его следующее положение на доске. Он проходит через различные планы бытия, поднимаясь по стрелам и опускаясь вместе со змеями, стремясь постичь намерение своего Высшего «Я» везде, куда бы он ни попал.
