Anifilm, the International Festival of Animated Films, taking place in Liberec, is the most prestigious event of its kind in Central Europe. With 20 years of tradition, Anifilm is the only competition festival of its kind in the Czech Republic. Thanks to the structure of the festival’s competition and its long-term high quality, experts rank Anifilm among the most prestigious festivals in the world.

Accompanying Film Programme
In addition to the competition that brings the latest inspirations from the world of animation to Liberec, the festival prepares a very rich non-competition film programme each year. It prepares special thematic showcases, retrospectives and innovative looks at archive heritage with a focus on Czech animation.

Industry Programme - Lectures, Presentations, Workshops
Our professional programme is an important and significant part of the festival. Each year we offer professional lectures by historians, theorists and filmmakers connected to the festival theme and the latest trends in animation.

Accompanying Programme
Exhibitions are, apart from various installations, a stable part of Anifilm.
Game Zone and VR Cinema is a space for presenting and playing competition games and VR projects including VR films, among other things.
Concerts of new Czech bands and musicians. Performances with and without screenings in the Festival Tent.

Programme for little ones
Animo is a film programme for little ones and young adults carefully prepared by Anifilm’s curators. It presents new and proven animated films from the Czech Republic and abroad.
Animation Workshops are popular schools – workshops – where you can try various animation techniques to make your own animated film under the guidance of experienced animators.
Theatrical Performances – little ones can look forward to theatrical performances in Lidové sady in the mornings.
