This app is for the Aphasia Network (TAN) feasibility study on using watches for studying Aphasia. This app is only intended for participants or testers in that study. The app will prompt you to name images at specific time intervals (as part of an ecological momentary assessment (EMA) protocol) during the study by bringing up a watch prompt and initiating an audio recording. This app will be configured for you as part of the in-lab training session. Please note that to be fully functional, you will need to also install the companion wearOS app.
Permissions, versions, and access:
Please note that this study is only for use by participants who have consented to and been enrolled in the aphasia pilot study at Northeastern. As a result, there are limitations on the devices and operating systems supported by this app. You should only use devices provided to you by the lab to ensure compatibility and to keep your data secure and separate from your personal phone.
This app also requests that you provide *external storage* access. This is needed specifically so that our study staff can view, check, and open files that have been created and transferred directly on the watch for the duration of the study. We do not access your personal files, because this app is only installed on our provided phones and watches for the purposes of this study only. We collect devices at the end of the study, and as soon as we have verified data offloads we wipe the devices.
