About APM Sweep Android App
Useful for acousticians and interior designers.
Use the logarithmic sinesweep method to measure any room acoustical parameters (RT, EDT, C50, C80, D50) and see what and how much sound absorbing material can help you (depending on the room volume and use).
The application still allows you to use the less precise direct method (baloon pop, clap).
The sinesweep method bypasses many android devices audio limitations, connecting your device to a good sound source and an external microphone you can get quasi-professional quality measurements. Use BT sound sources to have good survey estimates.
This application will tell you in a few seconds if the room you are testing has a sufficient internal acoustics quality checking on its geometrical volume and use, then it will propose a series of counter-ceilings or acoustic tiles to correct the reverberation.
Note - Do not install if you devices runs Android 5 or lower
Note - Remember to say yes to the microphone access when you first install this application
Note - if you use the impulse method on many smartphones you'll need to adjust the AGC and sensitivity options
