Aquascape usually consists of fish as well as plants. Although it can also create aquascape with plants only, or only with stone or other components without any plants.
The main goal of aquascape is to create an "underwater" picture, so that the technical aspects of water plant maintenance should also be considered. Many factors must be balanced in the ecosystem of an aquarium tank to ensure the successful creation of a beauty of aquascape art.
These factors include filtration, maintaining carbon dioxide (CO2) levels at a level sufficient to support underwater photosynthesis, substrate and fertilization, lighting, and algae control (moss).
The design of Aquascape itself includes a number of different styles. There are several designs that are quite often encountered, namely:
BIOTOPES
The above styles often combine plant and animal species based on the desired visual impact, regardless of geographic origin. Biotopes styles are designed not to replicate exactly certain aquatic habitats in specific geographic locations, and there is no need to set up a garden-like look. Plants and fish need not be coincidental, but if they exist, the plants and fishes must match what will be found in nature in the habitats they represent, as well as any gravel and, and even the chemical composition of water.
PALUDARIUMS
In this paludarium style is the art of arranging an aquarium with some of the plants underwater, and partially on the water. The arrangement of the substrate is conditioned in such a way that some "soil" areas are deliberately raised above the surface of the water, and the tank is filled with water only part / half only. This allows plants, such as the Cyperus alternifolius and the Spathiphyllum wallisii, as well as various Anubias and some bromeliads, to grow well. The root part of the plants remains underwater, but the tops of the plants are in the air. In some configurations, plants that float on the surface of the water, such as water hyacinth and Pistia stratiotes, can be displayed well. Unlike other aquarium styling styles, this paludariums style is perfect for maintaining amphibians.
