About Articulation Flashcards Android App
Articulation Flashcards app is a no-nonsense speech therapy app with more than 1,050 flashcards for Android users that can used for speech and language therapy.
This is app is designed and created by me, a practicing speech language pathologist who also happens to be an Android user. I’m not a fancy programmer. I’m just a speech language pathologist who is sick and tired of carrying around articulation flashcards and I’m not about to buy an Apple product.
Therefore, I created this app and I love it! I use it ALL THE TIME!
What’s Included:
- This app includes more than 1,070 flashcards for the phonemes: /b/, “ch,”, /d/, /f/, /g/, “j,” /k/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /p/, /r/, /s/, “sh,” /t/, “th,” /v/, and /z/.
- Each phoneme has 20 flashcards for the initial position, 20 for the medial position, and 20 for the final position.
- Each digital flashcard has the word and a sample target sentence provided at the bottom.
Common Uses:
- Articulation practice at all levels (syllable, word, sentence, connected speech)
- Drill practice for speech therapy
- Stimuli to be used during speech therapy games
- Home practice for parents
Alternative Uses:You can also use this app for other therapy goals such as language and/or pragmatics. Some sample ideas include:
- Defining vocabulary
- Relating vocabulary word together
- Similarities and differences
- Asking WH questions
- Answering WH questions
- Conversation prompts
Disclaimer: I didn’t include any games or accuracy counter, because to be honest, I have never used them. They sound good; however, during authentic speech therapy, I don’t want my kids playing games on a device. Communication is all about communicating with real human beings. I didn’t include an accuracy option because it isn’t that functional. You still need to record your data on your IEP or daily notes. It is never checked.
To simplify things and life, this app is just full of articulation flashcards...all you really need!
