O Atlas do Estudante da Era Digital oferece, além dos mapas clássicos do mundo e do Brasil (político, físico, vegetação, clima, correntes marítimas, placas tectônicas), dezenas de mapas temáticos com dados estatísticos para aluno e professor realizarem leituras e análises acerca do planeta e do nosso país.
A obra inicia com textos sobre a história da cartografia e o desenvolvimento humano, passando pelos elementos cartográficos como projeções, coordenadas geográficas, escalas, convenções cartográficas, sensoriamento remoto e GPS. Há também uma breve abordagem sobre a origem da Terra e sobre os Sistemas Sol-Terra e Terra-Lua. Digital Age of Student Atlas offers in addition to the classic maps of the world and Brazil (political, physical, vegetation, climate, ocean currents, tectonic plates), dozens of thematic maps with statistical data for student and teacher conduct readings and analyzes about the planet and our country.
The work begins with texts on the history of cartography and human development, through the cartographic elements such as projections, geographic coordinates, scales, cartographic conventions, remote sensing and GPS. There is also a brief discussion on the origin of Earth and the Sun-Earth System and Earth-Moon. It presents several illustrative pictures representing different landscapes of Brazil and the world.
