About Audiotekt Android App

Audiotekt generates a Remix out of the sounds of your surroundings, based on the rhythm of the movement of your phone. With headphones on your ears and smartphone in you pocket reality gets augmented. Places become estranged, its noises deconstucted and rearranged by the User. Urban space gets appropriated. Social sructures, the City and our bodies define the rhythms in which we move. The Sounds that we get from the app are at the same time base and product of our movement. Certain Rhythms are forced on us by architecture, for instance by the size and spacing of steps on which fit our steps to. Those Rhythms can be broke apart auditory by the rhythms of our body (By moving the smartphone in your hand or in your pocket) and the Audiotekt application.

On the Interface you can change sensitivity for detectin of movement, record sounds (middle button), deactivate sounds of surroundings, (right button) and deactivate heartbeat (left button).

The recordings are stored as .wav files on your device in the folder "Audiotekt". You can access them with a filebrowser or by using a PC.
for best experienced it is recommended to increase the volume of the device to the maximum and to use headphones . Otherwise there will be a feedback between microphone and speakers.
The generated noises will, due to diffenent microphones, sound differently on every device.
The App can also be used with a Headset. In this Case the Microphone of the Headset will be used.
Especially in noisy surroundings the Remix gets interesting
The App will run in Background, even if the Smartphone's Display will be turned off.
