Viele geführte Wanderungen werden angeboten. Felsformationen, herrliche Aussichten, Wasser und dunkle Waldpassagen sorgen für Abwechslung. Auch wer auf eigene Faust losgeht, braucht keine Angst zu haben, sich zu verlaufen. Überall wo es notwendig ist, weisen dezente Schilder den richtigen Weg. Und Pausen lohnen sich immer: Zum Schauen, zum Verschnaufen und zum Stärken in einer der urige Waldgaststätten.

Ausgangspunkt der meisten Routen ist der Wandertreff am Haus der Natur im Kurpark. Wenige Meter davon entfernt befindet sich die Burgberg-Seilbahn, mit der die Besucher in drei Minuten auf den Großen Burgberg hinauf schweben. An historischer Stelle (Ruine der Harzburg) ist die Ruhe und Erholsamkeit der Harzer Wälder sofort zu spüren. Wer den Harzer Luchs hautnah in den Schaugehegen des Nationalparks erleben will, macht sich auf die Tour zur Rabenklippe. Wer den Einklang mit sich und der Natur sucht, ist schnell auf dem Besinnungsweg, der vom Antonius-Platz startet und den Sachsenberg umrundet.

Acht Verweilplätze garantieren wahre „Entschleunigung“. Nicht versäumen sollten alle Wanderer die Klippentour zum „Alten vom Berge“ an der Käste. Der Start dieser Rundtour ist am Café Goldberg oberhalb des Sportparks an der Rennbahn. Wer es sportlicher haben will, kann vom Sportparkzentrum auch der schnellen Form des Wanderns, dem Walking oder ganz speziell dem Nordic-Walking nachgehen. Im Sportpark an der Rennbahn beginnen neun ausgeschilderte Strecken von 3,7 bis knapp 22 km. Nach jeder Tour empfiehlt sich zur Entspannung ein Besuch in der Bad Harzburger Sole-Therme mit Sauna-Erlebniswelt im Kurpark.

Die selbst geförderte, heilkräftige Natur-Sole sprudelt aus rund 840 Metern Tiefe in die vier Schwimmbecken. Die Heilkraft der Sole und die angenehme Wärme laden zum Verweilen ein. Prunkstück der Wellness-Oase ist die Sauna-Erlebniswelt mit sechs Saunen. Hauptattraktion ist die Sole-Gabbro-Grotte. Natürlich können in der Sole-Therme auch Massagen und andere Beauty-Anwendungen gebucht werden. Für das leibliche Wohl sorgt das Bistro „Verde“.
