Version 6.3
- Bug resolved on some market days inquiry
- Locality added: BALENG
- BALATCHI market days added
- Bandjoun days with African characters
In parts of Cameroon where the population is predominantly Bamileke, dates in local languages are based on a week of 8 days which punctuate certain activities like the market days and the prohibitions of manifestations. To plan an activity on a Western calendar date, it is then necessary to know what the corresponding day of the local calendar will be. That need is satisfied by this ephemeris, a conversion tool put at your disposal on Android Smartphone Version 2.2 or higher, for an availability at any time and any place without a notebook or paper to look for.
BAMI DAYS application already integrates more than 40 localities. If you do not find yours, let us know the names of the 8 days of a week from your area, and we will be happy to incorporate them into our next version.
On the main menu:
The item "Select a locality" allows you to change the Village or Language to deal with.
The item "Market day at ?" displays the market days of your village, or any locality of which you will have entered the first few characters. The question mark indicates information awaiting verification. Entering a space after "Foto" is used to skip "Fotouni".
The item "Manage my reminders" allows you to save events that will be reported to you on the specified dates, as on the following model where apostrophes are used only to delimit what would be entered:
"20; Pay rent" Notifies the rent to be paid on the 20th of each month.
"2/20; Insurance before 25" Reports on the 20th February of each year, an insurance expiring on the 24th.
"tue; Friends Meeting at 8 pm" Flags this meeting every Tuesday.
"tue 3; Fufu Evening" Points out the Fufu Evening on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
"tue 9; Tontine" Notifies this tontine to honour the last Tuesday of each month.
"08/15/2017; Undo the poles" Reports this operation to do only once. Reminder to be removed manually when the operation is performed, if not, it is considered forgotten and will return every day after the deadline.
The item "Create a locality" allows you to integrate the days of your locality yourself into your copy of this application. If you only enter the name of a place already offered as standard (without date or name of the first day), its current data will be presented to you for any modification at your convenience.
The local name of the day is on a button on which you can press to hear its pronunciation if one of your acquaintances has sent it to us as an audio file. This button is green if the sound comes from a native of the village, and yellow if it comes from a neighbour.
NB: For our new presentation of the calendars, we extract information from different sources that we do not master. We therefore rely on your understanding in case of error that your observations will allow us to correct as soon as possible.
This version of Bamileke's Local Calendars Android App comes with one universal variant which will work on all the Android devices.
