Horses, to me, deserve to be treated like family. That's why I pay as much attention to detail in building a horse barn as I would in building a home. "Dutch doors" (half-doors). I know people enjoy looking at their horses looking out over Dutch doors, but a horse rests best when he knows his stall is his private bedroom and he can stay quietly within it. Besides, a horse who hangs his head out will chew the door and anything else in reach.
