About BeerVision - Beer Menu Scanner Android App
BeerVision allows you to make informed choices about beer as quickly as possible. No more manually searching for every beer name when trying to pick what to drink. Just snap a picture of a menu to get all the beers ranked by user ratings.
FAQ: Why are RateBeer ratings lower than on the website?
Ratebeer used to only display the number of reviews and a "weighted average" of the beer which is typically lower than the regular average. They recently switched to a different system. You can view the weighted average if clicking on "More statistics" in their website. This discrepancy does not affect the ranking of the beers, because BeerVision uses a percentile system per website.
Upcoming fixes:
-Improve detection of beers in a microbrewery who doesn't put their name in front of every listing
-Put more beers (especially newer ones) in the database
-Better consolidation of same beers between different websites
-Improve rating percentile calculation
-Improve beer detection accuracy in general across all kinds of menus
