A simple and fun interactive game based on the wings of a butterfly to help children learn about the world of fractions.
A butterfly is used as this is a timeless favourite with young children.
See how the butterfly's wings can be seen as halves, quarters and the whole. Match up the halves and quarters and see the screen light up with colour. The game also introduces the equivalence of fractions both graphically and numerically (e.g. two quarters are the same as one half).
A simple equation reinforces the notion of fractions and how this relates to the butterfly wings.
The game has been tried with young children who enjoy the colours, matching the patterns and watching the screen change as they interact with it. Older siblings have even become involved explaining how to play the game.
We have been careful that the game is kid-proof and taken every effort to ensure the game will survive even the nimblest of fingers! Of course, if any issues are identified they will be rectified without charge.
The game is suitable for young children as they interact simply by pressing the screen. They will be kept entertained as the screen image changes and uses bright strong colours to keep their attention. In the process they are learning about simple fractions.
