About Cache Radar MkII Android App

Remember this is an app widget which you have to load onto your home screen - it is not an app.

This new enhanced version of Cache Radar is designed specifically for users who have an account (free or premium) with geocaching.com. NB Without an account it WON'T work. You can create an account here : www.geocaching.com

Once you have logged in with your geocaching.com id and password, the cache radar widget will show you a summary list of the caches within a certain radius of your current location. The caches can be be filtered in order to not show your own caches, disabled caches or caches which you have already found.

The searching for caches can be set to automatic, in which case it will scan based on your changing location. Alternatively, to minimise battery usage it can be set that a scan is carried out when you manually choose to do so.


The permissions needed are basically those required to determine your location, and to access the internet in order to contact geocaching.com to retrieve the appropriate cache information.

If you have problems with the app not behaving how you expect, or it lacks features you'd like to see then please let us know before leaving negative feedback. We want to give you an app that works the way you want it to work.

When leaving comments especially if having problems give us as much info as you can ie the location co-ordinates reported by the widget, any other information shown on the widget, the search range requested, android version and phone model are all very useful.
