About Chess Checkerboard Dance Live Android App
Several different types of checkerboards are used in different variants of the game of checkers. The usual checkerboard is the one used in so-called "pool checkers," also called "Spanish pool checkers," which consists of an board, making its dimensions identical to those of the chessboard. Commercial checkerboards generally have black and red squares (left figure above), with the board being oriented so that each player has a black square in the left corner. In tournament play, the colors of the checkerboard squares usually consist of olive green and buff, where "buff" is a color variously defined as a moderate orange yellow or a light to moderate yellow (right figure). The colors of the squares are, however, referred to as "black" and "red."
