Le Centre National des Oeuvres Universitaires (CNOU) est chargé d'organiser :

- l'hébergement,
- la restauration,
- le paiement des bourses et indemnités allouées aux étudiants,
- la protection médicale et sociale des étudiants,
- l'information des étudiants,
- les activités socioculturelles et sportives,
- les contacts entre étudiants nationaux et étrangers.

Placé sous la tutelle du Ministère en charge de l'Enseignement Supérieur, le Centre National des Oeuvres Universitaires est un établissement public à compétence nationale, doté de la personnalité juridique et de l'autonomie de gestion. Il dispose, pour l'accomplissement de ses missions, des équipements, personnels et crédits affectés par l'Etat et les collectivités locales, ainsi que de ressources propres provenant notamment de ses prestations, de legs, donations, fonds de concours et subventions diverses. The University Works National Centre (NEOC) is responsible for organizing:

- Accommodation,
- Restoration,
- The payment of scholarships and allowances to students,
- Medical and social protection of students,
- Information for students,
- Socio-cultural and sports activities,
- Contacts between national and foreign students.

Under the supervision of the Ministry for Higher Education, the University Works National Center is a public institution with national competence, with legal personality and autonomous management. It has, for the performance of its tasks, equipment, personnel and funds allocated by the state and local governments, and own resources derived from its services, bequests, donations, support funds and various grants. It may also acquire real and personal property constituting its own assets
