FAQ
--------------------------------

1) What is a programming challenge?

A programming or coding challenge is a competitive programming contest, where you would be required to solve multiple coding problems around certain themes. These contests are usually time based, and involve problems across categories like Data Structures, Algorithms, Bot Challenges, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning etc.

2) What is a hackathon? How is it different from a coding challenge?

A hackathon is a gathering where programmers code collaboratively over a time period ranging from a few hours to a few days, as part of a competitive programming contest. The idea of a hackathon is usually to build something from scratch that can solve or assist the problems mentioned in the theme.

A coding challenge usually has a set problem statement with a fixed solution, whereas a hackathon is theme based. Participants are required to create a solution that best fits the theme, and there is no straight-forward answer to a question.

3) I'm looking for a developer job. Can this app help me?

You can register for upcoming and live hiring challenges and contests on HackerEarth through this app. Based on your performance in these hiring challenges, the organizing firm might consider you for their developer job vacancies.

4) After registering, can I also take part in the events using this app?

Coding is something that is better suited to be done on a full size keyboard with a big screen in front of you. Therefore, you can only stay updated about different challenges and hackathons using the app.

To participate, you will require to login to the same HackerEarth profile on your computer.
