Materials
STYROFOAM Brand Foam

2” and 2-1/2” balls (or larger)
*Sold under the name Make It:Fun® Foam

Other Materials

T-shirts, one each orange & green
Plastic bottle caps
Googly eyes
Pompoms
Thick, white craft glue or low-temp glue gun
Optional

Pony beads
punched paper leaves
miniature tennis racket, baseball, or other sports equipment
eyeglasses
earrings
ribbon
etc.

Optional: Rotary cutter & cutting mat

Instructions
1. Cut the t-shirts into strips:
For the 2” ball, cut fourteen, 16” long strips from the orange T-shirt
For the 2-1/2” ball, cut sixteen, 20” strips.

2. Cut an additional, 6” strip from the orange T-shirt for each pumpkin.
From the green T-shirt, cut a 10” strip for each pumpkin.

3. Pull the T-shirt strips taut, so that they form tubes. Gather together the 16” strips, fold in half, and wrap a 6” strip around the center and tie a knot. Fan out the strips to form a circle. Repeat with the 20” strips.

4. Press the balls of STYROFOAM Brand Foam on a flat surface to slightly flatten one side. Squeeze a small amount of glue onto the center knot holding together the 16” strips, and press the flat side of the 2” foam ball onto the glue. Bring the strips up and around the ball, arranging them evenly to cover the ball. Tie the 10” green strip around the top of the ball, holding all the strips in place. Repeat for the 2-1/2” ball and 20” strips.

5. Finish off the green strip by tying in a bow or a knot, or wrapping the ends around and around, creating a stem. Cut off the excess green strip and glue the ends in place.

6. Style the pumpkin’s hair: Tie a bow; tie overhand knots in each strand; trim the strands to different lengths; and/or add beads. Refer to the project photo for ideas.

7. Glue on eyes and pompom nose.
Glue a bottle top onto the bottom of each pumpkin.
Personalize with accessories.
