The principle behind the Competition is to walk in the Czech mountains and look for and collect virtual stamps (Yeti’s footprints) using the České hory mobile application (hereinafter referred to as “the Application”). The goal is to collect as many virtual stamps as possible before the Competition closes. Users of the Application acquire a stamp by identifying their actual position at one of the indicated places of interest (by means of GPS coordinates, tolerance of approx. 50 m). Upon confirmation, the Application adds a virtual stamp to the Competitor´s collection. For each stamp acquired the user is awarded a certain number of points in the Application.
The goal of this Application is to inform and to motivate people to walk in the Czech mountains. The main function of the Application is to give people the opportunity to collect virtual stamps (Yeti footprints) for their endeavours. The locations where you can earn the stamps are largely tourist landmarks close to well known walking routes in the Czech mountains.
The Application also contains recommended routes for children, young people, adults and active sportsmen as well as useful information for visitors to the mountains. The information includes the basics of first aid, codes of conduct in the mountains, ski slope etiquette and the location of the nearest Mountain Rescue Service station.
The “České hory” project is co-financed by the Integrated Operational Programme and is registered under numbers CZ.1.06/4.1.00/25.09701 and CZ.1.06/4.1.00/25.09702.
