Lebanon’s natural and cultural heritage is at your fingertips with the free Daskara app!
DASKARA, Arabic for “AUTHENTIC VILLAGE,” is a nature and culture guide that serves as a repository of insider information on the plethora of natural and cultural sites and initiatives in Lebanon. The information is community sourced by the nature conservation center at the American University of Beirut. We rely on your contributions to further expand the database. You can add or explore locations under different themes including cultural experiences, eco-solutions, food and lodging, nature encounter, recreation and sports, local services, or learn more about each village in the village page feature. By documenting and exploring Lebanon’s nature and culture, you will help local small businesses and civil society initiatives to flourish by being discovered.
The locally contributed knowledge harnessed through Daskara will also serve the Lebanese diaspora who want to learn and engage in nature conservation and heritage preservation.
Daskara is a joint project between the nature conservation center at the American University of Beirut and Fondation Diane.
The app supports two different languages - English and Arabic.
