This mobile app was designed for law enforcement and first responders needing information and referrals on Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias (ADRD). Included are quick sharable references to understanding memory loss, common behaviors and symptoms, and safety guidelines. The user will have quick access to the Take Me Home registry, info for making an APS report, and referrals to Alzheimer’s San Diego. Please consult with your supervisor or agency policies and procedures with regard to working with those with ADRD.
This mobile app was developed by the Academy for Professional Excellence's San Diego/ Imperial Geriatric Education Center. The San Diego/Imperial Geriatric Education Center (SDIGEC) has been funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, as part of their Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program to develop the next generation of geriatric health workers in San Diego and Imperial Counties. SDIGEC builds on The Alzheimer’s Project, a regional initiative of the County of San Diego, that through the leadership of Chairwoman Dianne Jacob (now County Supervisor) and the County Board of Supervisors, brought together community partners to develop plans to address the growing health concern of Alzheimer’s Disease.
