Everyone can bring a few things and you're sure to have a great time.

Homemade Ornaments

Dip yarn in a mixture of 50/50 water and glue or 50/50 water and dissolved sugar. Wrap it around a small balloon to create a beautiful ornament. When dry, simply pop the balloon and pull it out through one of the spaces. Use wallpaper scraps, fabrics, and other things from around the house to make or decorate ornaments. Don't forget to let the kids create their own precious keepsakes every year.

Handmade Wreath

Use those Christmas tree trimmings to make your own fragrant wreath for the holidays. Decorate it with bright and different textured things from nature. If you use a floral foam base, you can soak your wreath in water about once a week to keep it fresh and alive. You can ask for trimmings at your local Christmas tree farm and make wreaths as gifts, too.

Garland Cut-Outs

Let the kids help you to cut out varying shapes and sizes of paper snowflakes. You can use glitter to make them sparkle and shine if you wish. String them up together to create interesting chandeliers, garlands, or tree decorations.

Homemade Cards

You can really show people that you care by writing your Christmas cards by hand. Use a stamp or create your own bow to embellish the cards. Include family pictures and a letter telling everyone that you don't keep in touch with every day about your year.

Little Trees

Roll poster board into different sized cones and decorate with paint, sequins, sprinkles, cut-out snowflakes, paper doilies, buttons, or anything that comes to mind. Place them around the house to brighten up dark spots.
