INTRO:
I recently submitted my doctoral dissertation at ELTE, Budapest, Hungary. With this app and a Google Cardboard you can watch the experiments in VR.
USAGE:
Simply look at the map. If you stare at a numbers for 2 sec, you teleport to the sites where the experiments were taken place. Once you are there, look around and explore it. If you want to go back to the menu, just look down and find the "Go back" sign, stare at it for 2 sec and you are back where you started. To exit, just look at the "Exit to reality" sign on the edge of the deck.
If you become interested have a look at my dissertation: http://agostontorok.github.io/research/torok_agoston_thesis.pdf
My theses are:
Thesis 1. -- When our viewpoint during navigation is easily transformed to that of
the actual navigator (i.e. 1st Person and 3rd Person viewpoints), egocentric
reference frame is preferred; however, when we take an aerial viewpoint,
allocentric reference frame is preferred
Thesis 2. -- When path integration is interrupted by repeated relocation events (i.e.
teleportations), object locations will be represented in an allocentric reference
frame.
Thesis 3. -- The ventriloquism illusion appears on both the horizontal and the
vertical axes in virtual reality
Thesis 4. -- Objects seem farther when they are above the horizon and closer
when they are below.
