About Edinburgh 1544 Android App
Explore the first digital reconstruction of Edinburgh in the 1540s. Learn about the Scottish capital’s eventful sixteenth-century history, and see recreations of key Edinburgh landmarks as they may have appeared during the childhood of Mary Queen of Scots.
Features include:
• Videos of Edinburgh’s sixteenth-century townscape.
• Photospheres visualizing the historic appearance of sites on and near the Royal Mile.
• Interactive hotspots with additional historical information.
• Location aware guide to link historic and modern landscapes.
Please note, from 1 June 2017 a trailer app giving tasters of the content for two sites (Holyrood Palace and the Netherbow Port) will be available.
The full app (with a wider range of sites) will be launched on 7 July 2017.
